Barry David Powell, age 47 of Deer Park, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2011. Born on September 24, 1963, he is the son of Phyllis Llewellyn and Ermon "Monk" Powell and his wife Linda. He is a 1981 graduate of Deer Park High School. He enjoyed listening to music and being with his family. He was also an avid reader. In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by two children, Nate Powell and Carly Powell, his brother, Jeffrey Powell and his wife Cindy, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. His brother Dale Powell, his grandparents, Herbert and Mildred Maupin, Nathan and Marie Powell, precede him in death. Celebration of his life will be held at Gilligan Funeral Home on Sunday September 25, 2011 from 2PM to 4PM, and continuing at the home of Jeffrey and Cindy Powell.
