Barbara Anne van den Broeck (ne Foley). Beloved wife of the late Claude van den Broeck, loving mother of Annemarie van den Broeck (David Cresci), Christine Buell (Thomas), Marc van den Broeck (Sheila) and Claire Laughlin (Brian), devoted grandmother of Jeremy and Luc van den Broeck and Nicolas Cresci. Barbara was also joyfully preparing for the arrival of Baby Laughlin and Baby Buell. Dear sister of Kathleen Luttmer, Elaine Sicking, Martha Helmick, Margaret Davis and Harry Foley, Jr. Also survived by extended family and dear friends around the world. Barbara departed on Friday, March 3, 2017 and is preceded in death by her parents, Elaine S. and Harry D. Foley. Barbara was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. She and Claude then raised their family in France for over 30 years. Barbara enjoyed travel, art and music. She was especially devoted to her beloved children and grandchildren, for whom she would have gone to the ends of the earth. Barbara was an accomplished teacher, and earned her Master's Degree in Education in the first-ever Montessori Master's class at Xavier University. She taught at several schools, most notably Marymount International School in Paris, France. Barbara, a devout Catholic, truly had a generous, selfless spirit and a smile that lit up every room. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel at The Summit Country Day School, preceded by a Visitation from 10 am 12 Noon (2161 Grandin Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45208). In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Association (www.apdaparkinson.org) or the Little Sisters of the Poor (476 Riddle Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45220).
