Anna Genevieve (Antonelli) Lynch, age 95, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2012. She was born in Higbee, Missouri on September 17, 1916. Genevieve was a life long educator and advocate for seniors in Central Missouri. She served as principal of Bradley Elementary and president of the Missouri Retired Teachers Association from 1998 to 2000. Genevieve was honored as Missouri Retired Teacher of the Year in 2003 and received the Missouri Senior Service Award in 2007. She was also a leader in the Silver Haired Legislature, the Higbee Senior Citizens Center, OATS and the United Way of Randolph County. Genevieve is survived by her daughter, Sherie Ann (Lynch) Marek, son-in-law, Leonard Marek, grandson, Michael Marek, nieces, Patricia Cox, Sue Yowell, Debbie Huckleberry, and nephew, Joesph Walbert. Her husband, Gabriel Lynch, predeceased her. Visitation will be held at Patton Funeral Home in Huntsville on Wednesday, May 30 at 5 to 7 p.m. and funeral services will be held at Huntsville Christian Church in Huntsville on May 31 at 10 a.m. Interment following at Oakland Cemetery, Moberly, MO. A celebration of Genevieve's life will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio, at St. Rose Church on June 13 at 10 a.m.. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Genevieve Lynch Memorial Scholarship at the University of Missouri's College of Education, which will support experienced students from Randolph and Chariton Counties.
