Lynett “Nay” Marie Bourgeous, beloved wife of Michael Arntz, loving mother to Leah and Andi Seggerman and stepson Damien Arntz, passed away surrounded by loved ones on March 7, 2024. She was born July 12, 1963, in Yuma Arizona to Clarence Banks Bourgeous and Vera Joyce Hughes.
She graduated from Marcos de Niza High School, Tempe, Arizona in 1981. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Miami University Oxford, Ohio in 2005 earning her Bachelor of History. She moved around a lot in her younger years to finally settle down in Mason, Ohio where she raised her family.
Lynett and John Seggerman had 2 daughters together whom they adored. Though their relationship didn’t last they remained friends in the years after. Lynett remarried Michael Arntz in 2015. They were the most unlikely of couples, but they loved each other dearly.
For over 30 years Lynett was a career bookkeeper and office manager. She had a love for music and played several instruments, favoring the clarinet. She tried to instill her love for music in her daughters and was a Mason band mom during the years her daughters were part of the marching band. Lynett is survived by her husband, daughters and stepson; her siblings Pamela Joyce Moser (husband, Craig); Clarence Grant Bourgeous (wife, Robin); sister-in-law Kathy Bourgeous; former spouse, John Seggerman; numerous cousins, nephews and nieces and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Dale Bourgeous, Wayne Bourgeous and Lyle Bourgeous; and two nephews, Joshua and Ryan Bourgeous.
There will be no service, but Lynett has always expressed the wish to have her ashes scattered in "happy places" so her husband and children will do that for her. One of those places will be at the family farm during the family reunion on June 8, 2024.
